Feeding the crows

As the traditional Hindu legend goes, feeding the crow is a good remembrance of our dear demised ones!!!

My Grand-mom feed the crows every morning for the past 40-50 years.... Applying the concept of 'Conscious Competence matrix' here goes:

Stage 1: Crows are not aware that food is available in a house. G-mom calls out Caw-Caw initially to attract them.
Stage 2: Now the crows are aware food is available.
Stage 3: Repetitive visits to the same house makes them aware that food will be available at that particular time.
Stage 4: Without even thinking the crows now come to the house at the exact time everyday.

"Learning the art of food availability" by the Crows is also "Learning".

What do you guys learn from this story?

Reading Books

While Transiting through a Station, we pondered into a book stall. My better-half being a voracious reader, felt there was not enough books to make a hole in my pocket (:-. On the other hand, me being a visual person, felt hmm there was tons of book to read or atleast look through.

... Highly relative, right.

DESSENT SALON

Traveling by Train from Chennai to Munnar for a "GET-AWAY" from the mundane urban livelihood, I noticed a salon named "DESSENT SALON". This at first sounded very funny, getting us a few seconds of laughter at the stupidity of the owner for carelessly misspelling the word. After half-an-hour, thinking back on the sign, I laughed at myself. This owner who had a little knowledge on English, a foreign language, still had the confidence to spit out what he knew to  invite a different segment of his prospect clientele. Very brave of him. He believed in himself and DID NOT care about anyone around him

I am more than confident I have made tons of mistakes in this post !!! WHO AM I TO LAUGH AT THIS BEING?

Venus vanquished by Pironkova again

This is another history with Venus removed from the Wimbledon... Exciting..
Times of India, paper edition had the fresh-faced pro Tsvetana Pironkova (TP) comments: "I beat her two times, two consecutive years in this great tournament, now on this legendary court. It is just that I feel so relaxed here. I like the atmosphere. I feel she started well, then made a few errors. I think I played very well. I pushed her and you know really tested her."

Linking this to the “Four Stages for Learning Any New Skill" model theory. When TP was facing Venus initially in Wimbledon, she was in "Conscious Incompetence" stage, when she knew how Venus played but had not played with her and did not know how to defeat her. From her statement above, she has raised to the "Conscious Competence" stage where has defeated Venus couple of times, getting her slowly cognitive on the Venus skills and her weakness thus making her more calm, poised, relaxed. She will now move into "Unconscious Competence"though she will have to play with the same seriousness she started earlier.

Does money matter ?

It appears, I have been procrastinating.... The blog updates looks like "a week in my life", will stop doing this.

But interesting and fascinating thing i noticed and most of you have realized...... we as IT professionals/Dr.'s/EngineerMBA's are always after the so-called "Green bills" or "Gandhi Faced Note" ---- the Money. We simply do not realize, that we need it for Food to eat, place for shelter and clothes to wear. We keep slogging our rear end off, looking for material pleasures; not realizing the simple necessities of life.

We have a security for our colony we live in. Every night his wife comes in around 9:30 pm with cooked dinner. They sit down in the corner of the shelter, eat food, exchange a few lovely words and bid each other good night.

Thats life !!!! Live the day, enjoy the few inexpensive pleasures of life, care of each other and call it a day.

Mingle and Jingle

Eh.. this was my cousins Bachelors party!!!! In a bachelors party, we had the woman folk to wish success to the couple. Not to mention, drinks and lots of meet accompanied the TO-BE wedded.

The party place at ACCORD METROPOLITAN had chairs around the dance floor. This pretty lady kept her shopping bag and a friend's hand-bag on the 3rd chair. Here goes the fun, my cousin Sriram accompanied by his sister and wife occupied starting from the 3rd chair, moving the bag to adjacent chairs. The bags found themselves on the 6th chair. My wife and I sat next to occupants of the 5th chair thus displacing the bag to the 8th chair. Another stranger comes in and moves the bag to the 9th chair.

Note these incidents happened in less than 10 minutes. A simple non-displacement of the bag from its original position would not lead to confusion and the owner questioning the final position of the bag... Interesting isn't itRed Large Vicky Giraffe Print Faux Leather Satchel Bag Handbag Purse

A dog says 'hello' and waits

Today's morning walk made me see a dog at a  distance. He was trying to cross the road and then suddenly stopped. I continued my walk past the dog. This guy looked left, right waited for me to pass him and then crossed the road.

We humans, supposedly superior of all living organisms; do we have this dog's intellect in observing traffic rules ?

Tea Stall

A walk on Nungambakkam high Road has plenty of Tea Stalls where you smoke 'pot' (:-, linger around with friends, work mates and the passers-by.

Smokers protocol is to stop by at one of these stalls, smoke, eat bonda's and coffee. Our first time at a stall we hand a Rs 100 bill for purchase of  bonda and coffee worth Rs10. The Tea-staller says "No Change". Alright, we now came in every day making an "exact change" purchase.

The 4th day comes in;we produce a Rs. 100 for a Rs 8 purchase early in the morning. The Tea guy says "Here is the change"

Collaboration in the morning

Its amazing  how 'Collaboration' term is defined. But simply sharing of anything would define the term.

This morning captured 2 events for me that occurred during my morning leisure.

Here say:

Incident 1: We received around 25 "Manga's" from my aunts place. My 90
year old Grand mother called on our helper to distribute the manga's
around the neighborhood. A big smile came on my face........... "an
act of collaboration"

Incident 2: I was reading my new's paper, when we noticed a 'murder'
of crows flying around; on the road and every where. Too many crows at
the same time talks of a dead rat, a running mouse, a baby crow ...and
so on. After a few minutes of pulling my hair apart and a family
discussion, we realized this group was flying around looking for twigs/
branches to build a nest ......"another act of collaboration"

Interesting isn't it?
